WILL I BE ABLE TO HANDLE A CLEANSE?
While committing to a cleanse program requires a level of dedication, remember that it is not designed to starve you. The goal of a cleanse is to feed your cells with instantly absorbable nutrients while supporting your body's natural detoxification process. Think of it as hitting your body's "refresh" button. The most common feedback we hear from our clients who use our cleanses is that a juice cleanse can be tough at times, as it's a big change from their daily routines, but that the end results (glowing skin, more energy, better sleep, and no more sugar cravings) make the challenge beyond worth it. CAN I ADD AN EXTRA JUICE TO MY CLEANSE PACKAGE?
We get it. If you've never done a juice cleanse before, the thought of drinking only our juices and water for a few days can be nerve-racking. Our juice cleanses typically consist of consuming 6 drinks a day, but if you think that adding more juice to your cleanse would help you to stick with your goals, then go for it! Just let us know in the comments section before checkout.
CAN I WORK OUT WHILE ON A CLEANSE?
We like where your head's at, you go-getter, you! It's safe to exercise while on a cleanse but it's extremely important to listen to your body and to be gentle with yourself. Our drinks are providing calories but, likely, much less than you are used to getting on a daily basis. Until you know how the juice cleanse will affect you, start slow with lower intensity forms of exercise and work your way up as you see fit. Pun intended.
CLEANSING WHILE PREGNANT -- YAY OR NAY?
While our juices are extremely nutrient dense, we do not recommend juice cleansing for those who are pregnant. When you are pregnant, your body is already working overtime to meet the needs of your growing fetus. In this delicate time, your body needs more calories than our juice cleanse would provide. We recommend supplementing your diet with 1-2 juices per day to get the benefits of our juices while also maintaining the calories you need to support you and your growing babes.
1 VS. 3 VS. 5 DAY CLEANSES. WHICH IS RIGHT FOR ME?
The longer you cleanse, the deeper detoxification you get from our cold-pressed juices. That being said, our 5 day cleanses are more challenging than our 1 or 3 day cleanses. If you're a beginner, we'd suggest to hit up the 1 or 3 day cleanses for your first go around. You'll still get the great benefits of a juice cleanse, but think of these benefits as a preview to even more payoff with our 5 day cleanse. It is important to evaluate what your goals are and what your schedule will look like during the cleanse -- remember, the best plan is the one that you'll stick to. We're (k2)rooting for you!
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE IN CLEANSE LEVELS?
In addition to choosing how long you want your cleanse to be, you can also decide which level cleanse you'd like. At K2, we have two simple options to choose from: beginner and advanced. Again, if it's your first time cleansing, we recommend starting with the beginner set, which includes two green juices and caps off the evening with a more hearty beverage (dairy free nut milk) to provide a few extra calories and to curb your appetite before bed. If you're looking for a greater challenge (and therefore, greater benefits), go for the advanced cleanse. Our advanced option focuses more on greens and includes fewer calories than our beginner cleanse.
I NOTICED A DISCOLORATION OF MY URINE/STOOL AFTER DRINKING BEET JUICE. IS THIS NORMAL?
DO. NOT. PANIC. It can be alarming to look in the toilet and notice that your bodily excretions may be pink or red tinged after enjoying some beet juice. As weird as it seems, beets contains carotenes that can transform the color of our urine and bowel movements. Think of it as a harmless side effect to all the awesome things beets bring to the table: antioxidant properties, anti-inflammatory effects, detox support, and increased stamina. WE NOTICED YOU'VE SWITCHED TO PLASTIC BOTTLES. WHAT'S THE SITCH ON THAT?
We are so glad you asked! Our new 16 oz. bottles are 100% recyclable, PET grade material, and BPA free. They are lighter in weight which helps to reduce the amount of gas needed to transport our juice to you. We take pride in knowing that we found the safest single-use plastic bottle on the market. Sip, sip, hooray!
WHY IS YOUR SHELF LIFE SO MUCH SHORTER THAN JUICES I FIND IN THE GROCERY STORE?
Unlike a lot of other juices on the market, we feel strongly about producing the most nutrient, mineral, and enzyme dense drinks that we can. We don't use high pressure pasteurization or added preservatives (methods that increase the shelf life but would compromise the nutrients our products have to offer) because we believe in giving you the biggest bang for your buck. We prefer taking the road less traveled and serving our juice the way nature intended. That being said, we suggest consuming your favorite K2roots drinks within 72 hours to ensure maximum nutrient absorption. If you don't think you'll get to your juice within that period, that's okay! You can pop that bad boy into the freezer to make it last longer. Just be sure to thaw it in the refrigerator and consume within 3 days.

We have a guy. And that guy's name is Jim. Jim is our super awesome produce supplier who gathers organic, fresh fruits and vegetables from central Pennsylvania and delivers it to us at K2roots weekly. @Jim, we love your work! MY DRINK IS SEPARATING LIKE ITALIAN DRESSING. IS THIS NORMAL?
This is a question we get often and the answer is -- yes, completely normal. Fun fact, a lot of fruits and veggies are actually comprised mostly of water. When we run these ingredients through our juicer, the nutrients are separated and settle to the bottom simply because they're more dense than water. We think that separation is beautiful because it's au natural, baby. Before you take a swig, simply give our juices a shake to mix the ingredients back together and you're good to go.
WHY DON'T YOU PEEL THE SKINS OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES BEFORE JUICING THEM?
Unlike the metaphor "it's what's on the inside that counts" which doesn't give much credit to the outside, here at k2roots, we value both the inside AND outside of our ingredients. So many phytonutrients are found in the exterior of fruits and vegetables and we want to give you all of the good stuff our fruits and veggies have to offer!
