Why K2 Roots

Good things grow from the ground up.

Every smoothie, bowl and juice starts with whole fruits and vegetables, made fresh in small batches downtown. Here's what that means for you.

Local, from the ground up

We’re a locally owned shop on Garner Street. We buy from local farms when we can and make everything in small batches, so it tastes like it should.

Made fresh, to order

Smoothies and bowls are blended when you order. Juice is cold-pressed every morning on a slow press, never heated.

Real ingredients

Whole fruit, greens and nut butters you can see and taste. Our cold-pressed juice has no artificial sweeteners, preservatives or concentrates.

More produce, less effort

Most of us don’t eat the fruits and vegetables we mean to. A smoothie or a cold bottle is an easy way to add a few more servings to a busy day.

Warning: this product has not been pasteurized and therefore may contain harmful bacteria that can cause serious illness in children, the elderly, and persons with weakened immune systems. Juice is food, not medicine. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA, and our juices are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. If you're pregnant, nursing, managing a medical condition or taking medication, check with your doctor before starting a cleanse.

Before

Ease in

  • For 2–3 days, cut back on coffee, alcohol, sugar and fried or processed food.
  • Load up on water, fruit, vegetables and simple meals.
  • Plan a lighter week: skip the big workouts and late nights.

During

Sip on schedule

  • Start the day with 8 oz of lemon water, then drink bottles 1–6 in order, every 2–3 hours.
  • Keep them cold, and shake well before opening.
  • Aim for at least 8 glasses of water a day. Hungry? A little fruit, raw veggies or a few nuts is fine.

After

Ease out

  • Break your cleanse with something light, like a smoothie, bowl, soup or salad.
  • Bring back heavier foods, coffee and alcohol slowly over a couple of days.
  • Notice what you missed, and what you didn't.
Is a cleanse right for me?

Most healthy adults do fine on a short cleanse. If you're pregnant or nursing, have diabetes, kidney problems or another medical condition, or take prescription medication, talk to your doctor first. Expel contains activated charcoal, which can affect how medications are absorbed, so drink it at least two hours apart from any medication.

Beginner or advanced: which should I pick?

If it's your first cleanse, start with the Beginner Cleanse. It has more variety and ends each day with a filling nut mylk. The Advanced Cleanse is greens-heavy and includes our charcoal Expel, for people who've cleansed before. Both are $53 a day.

Can I eat during my cleanse?

You can. If you get hungry, have a little fresh fruit, raw vegetables or a small handful of nuts. Listen to your body. A cleanse shouldn't feel like punishment.

How long do the juices last?

Our juices are raw and unpasteurized, so keep them in the fridge and they'll stay fresh for up to 5 days after pickup. That's why we fresh-press every cleanse kit on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, ready for pickup after 9am.

When can I pick up?

Order at least 24 hours ahead and pick up at 114 S Garner St. All cleanse kits are picked up Monday, Wednesday or Friday after 9am, because we fresh-press them those mornings. Add your pickup day and time in the checkout comments.
